About The Garden Plot
The Garden Plot is for homeowners with actual yards — in-ground beds and raised beds, rows and native soil, real harvests you can eat. If your last gardening attempt was a sad tomato pot, you're in the right place: every guide starts from the soil up and ends with a plan.
Our rules are simple. Feed the soil, not the plant. Always check your zone before trusting anyone's planting dates — timing advice here always tells you to. And celebrate the ugly-but-productive garden: a muddy bed full of tomatoes beats a styled bed full of nothing. If you're new, start with our beginner's complete plan (publishing first) and work outward from there.
Heads up: this is a yard-gardening site, not a container-gardening one. If all you have is a balcony, our sister approach would be small-space container growing — here, we're putting roots in the ground.
